How to Use

Allow the engine to cool completely before opening the radiator or expansion tank cap.

Drain the cooling system and flush with clean water until the drain runs clear.

Fill with the product as supplied to the MAX mark – do not dilute with water.

Run the engine to operating temperature with the heater on maximum to purge trapped air.

Let it cool, then re-check and top up to MAX with the same product.

Replace every 12 months or 20,000 km. For cold-climate or high-altitude use, choose SOLVAR Engine Coolant ULTRA or ARCTIC instead.

Product Details

SOLVAR Engine Coolant SUPER (Green) is a ready-to-use radiator coolant designed for the hot climates where most cooling systems actually fail – from rust, scale and overheating rather than from freezing. Its inhibitor system is a buffered benzoate–carbonate package with an azole copper inhibitor. The sodium carbonate / bicarbonate buffer gives the reserve alkalinity the system needs without disodium tetraborate, so the product carries none of the reproductive-toxicity labelling that a borax-buffered coolant would require. It protects iron, steel, copper, brass, solder and aluminium, keeps the radiator and heater core free of scale, and is non-foaming so the water pump is not damaged by cavitation. The measured freeze point is approximately −3 °C. That is a factual specification, not an antifreeze claim: this grade is not intended for winter freeze protection, and vehicles used in cold pockets or at altitude should run SOLVAR Engine Coolant ULTRA or ARCTIC instead.
